Beginning Conversations About Our Future

Over 60 participants shared their thoughts and visions for the future of Murrieta at two identical visioning workshops on January 28th and January 30th at Murrieta Mesa High School. These workshops were preceded by a Student Visioning Workshop on January 20th, which was attended by 48 students from Vista Murrieta High School. We also received input from nearly 100 respondents to the online visioning survey, which was available from January 8th through February 8th.

A Summary Report of the input received through the workshops and survey can be found on the General Plan Update website (www.murrietaplan.info). This input from the community is vital to the development of the General Plan Update.

Let’s Talk About Land Use

The General Plan Update will guide land development in Murrieta, with key changes being considered in strategic areas near the freeways. Please come and give us your thoughts on the future of land use in our community!

About the General Plan

The Murrieta General Plan will shape private development and public infrastructure for the next 25 years.  The City is undertaking a comprehensive update of the General Plan to ensure that land use decisions and other City policies help achieve the City Council’s vision of Murrieta as a diversified business hub for the region.  This important document can create a foundation for Murrieta’s future economic prosperity. 

Topics addressed in the General Plan Update will include land use, economic development, transportation, resource conservation, recreation, open space, air quality, noise, water infrastructure, safety, and health.
