What’s New On July 19, 2011, the Murrieta City Council voted to adopt General Plan 2035 and certify the Final Environmental Impact Report, as well as adopt the Climate Action Plan. Hearings for Public Review Draft General Plan 2035 and Environmental Impact ReportThe public is invited to attend a public hearing held by the Murrieta City Council in order to consider adopting the updated General Plan and certifying the corresponding Environmental Impact Report (EIR):
City Council Hearing In this hearing, the City Council will consider a presentation by the City of Murrieta Community Development Department and members of the consultant team hired to assist in completing the update. The presentation will include discussions about how the General Plan helps to position Murrieta to grasp economic development opportunities, key circulation improvements in the community, and two new components: the Healthy Community Element and Climate Action Plan. It will also provide a brief overview of the Environmental Impact Report. The Planning Commission held four hearings beginning on March 9 to review the draft General Plan and EIR, and to hear public comments. In its fourth hearing on June 8, the Commission made its recommendation to the City Council to adopt the General Plan and certify the EIR, adding four items for the Council to consider. City of Murrieta Public Review and Comment Period The Public Review Draft General Plan 2035 Environmental Impact Report had a 45-day public comment period that began on February 8, 2011 and ended on March 24, 2011. The General Plan Comments and Responses document responds to comments received during that period.
